This book is really designed for planning road trips, there are many other guide books that go into greater detail of art/history/culture of a place, some tell you what to visit giving you maps of main attractions and ticket prices, and yet others go into the specifics of where to stay, what to eat, and have lists upon lists of hotels, inns and restaurants. Inspired by travel, even if it's armchair right at the moment..... This is standard fair for Lonely Planet Guidebooks. It's pretty thorough, though lacks many intimate details. It's impossible to "live like a local" when you're not a local-- that's one of those promises made by travel guides that are unlikely to achieve.
