Every now and then, you run across a book which should come with a roadmap.  I can't give an exact count, but there are at least thirty different vignettes, plot-ettes, allegories, fairy tales, biographies... These dozens of stories are threaded through the first-person story of 20-year old Eiji Miyake - his real-time life, fantasies, deliriums, aspirations and dreams.      I'm a little bit in love with David Mitchell simply because his novels manage this wild patchwork …
