I read Pet Sematary a long time ago as I love most of Steven King, and to be honest, the book scared the crap out of me (which believe me is rare); I saw the movie and although it was good also, the book made more of an impact on me.      Steven King sometimes draws out his novels a little too much for me; I like action right through without lots of "down time" and this book fit the bill.  I won't waste your time by telling you what the story was about, as …

This psychological thriller is one of my favorites and few that make a decent movie pick as well.  Kathy Bates certainly depicts the character King seeks to describe in his novel.  The pages turn quickly and it is a fairly easy read.  King does not disappoint.

   I have been a long time reader of Mr. King and along with the book IT this is one that truly scared me. In my opinion it is King's scariest work. The thing I fell in love with the most was the depth and the psychology of the entire cast of characters. Read if you are a fan of the horror genre or just great novels in general.

I saw this movie 25 years ago, shortly after my father died, so I was in a emotionally shaky state.  I didn't think I was easily shocked --- I'd seen the Exorcist!!  -- but this movie was horrifying to me.  To actually think about bringing your loved ones back was unimaginable.  But to have them come back as monsters was shocking.  I later read the book to see if I'd missed something in the movie.  But I don't think I did!   …

A family moves to a house with an Indian Cemetary on the property. The cemetary has a curse on it and things buried there seem (the family dog) seem to come back to life. All through the first half of the book we keep being shown large Orono fuel trucks whizzing past the front of the house. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that someone in the family will be hit by one of those trucks and then get buried in the cemetary to be brought back to life. Did I say predictable? Well not to give away …
