"Prey of Desire" is a psychological thriller where the reader learns of a gruesome, unexplained murder in the first few pages. The reader's curiosity is established, we want to know why the person was murdered and what happened to the killer.
The story then takes the reader to twenty-five years later. We follow events of a college student's life. Kimberly is age twenty-two and has just broken up with her fiance. She has a very good friend named Mallory.
Mallory is in her thirties and is experienced with men. She encourages kim to get on with her life and to go on other dates. Reluctantly, Kim agrees. The date is a no show but someone is watching her.
There is a second date, this is for a New Year's Eve party when something totally unexpected happens. Suspense mounts but I don't want to give away anything in the plot.
I enjoyed the story and felt sympathy for Kimberly and when she got into tight situations, I wanted to yell to watch out!
Recommended for the reader looking for an easy, suspenseful read.
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
