When it comes to parody and satire, there is Mad Magazine and everything else. No one does it better although no one could ever portray the writing of the Mad staff as cerebral in nature. In this case the target of their virtual water balloons are some of the old movies that thrill, inspire and scare. The writing here does none of those things of course, disasters at sea and in the air, war at sea, "mad" scientists, unappreciated geniuses, and flashing, dashing swords are some of the film events hit with a virtual pie in the face. It is funny, although most of the humor will have you groaning rather than laughing uncontrollably. If you want to experience a light-hearted half-hour of simple, clean fun, then this is a book for you.
