Sam and Mitch

Amos Lassen

Middleton, Iowa is not a very exciting place for a gay man. Sam Keller has resigned himself to the fact that he will never find anyone there especially since he is holding down two jobs. The only reason he stayed in Iowa was because he promised his mother before she died that he would be a good man. He knows that means that he has to find both a husband and a stable career. Just as he was about to totally give up on both, he met Mitch. A truck driver who made a delivery near when he worked. Before both men realized it, they became involved and Mitch offers Sam a ride west. Sam, dying for some excitement readily agreed realizing that he was falling in love with Mitch.
This is a love story with a lot of romance and kinky sex. There is also excellent character development and Sam comes across as a totally realistic person.
Sam is basically a good boy who is lucky to have had a loving mother who supported him and taught him that it was not a sin to love but he was not lucky as he searched for love and he was very lonely until he met Mitch. He allowed himself to play kinky with Mitch, the 33 years old trucker who allowed Sam to tag along with him on the road while he taught and protected him. Sam dreamt of a long-term relationship with a tender and caring lover, and Mitch, being older and more experienced, is probably the man up to the role. Sam had never met his real father, is probably projecting a need of a fatherly figure in his life in Mitch who is really a good guy, and good for Sam.

There is a lot of sex, with multiple partners, but all in all, the feeling was always of a very tight couple, Sam and Mitch liked their sex a kinky to a point. The sex and the lovemaking that occurs throughout the story is erotic.
The writing is fast-paced and the characters really draw the reader in.
