'Storm Born' is the beginning of a new series for Richelle Mead, and in some ways it's her most adult story yet. Unfortunately, it's also her most predictable and most mundane - which, considering that it's a story steeped in fairies, ghosts, and magic, is more than a little ironic.      The tough-as-nails female paranormal investigator is a well-worn concept these days, to varying degrees of success. About two years ago, after reading LKH's latest monstrosity, (Danse Macabre {Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, Book 14}) I swore off series. I had enough, you would get all into them, and by the 4th book it was absolute garbage. Twilight of course pulled me back into the world of paranormal and series - and it lead me to Richelle Mead.
