Symbology 101 Workbook

I have a shelf full of books on symbols: huge encyclopedias of symbol definitions, texts that deal strictly with archetypes, and books specifically for dream analysis. Each one seems to have its particular strengths and weaknesses. From each, I learn just a little something new.

Symbology 101 Workbook is no exception. This reference book houses a good number of symbols ranging from the alphabet and geometric shapes to animals and plants to body parts and elements. It's got everything that you'd expect a good book on symbols to contain.

While interesting, easy to look up, and useful, I thought that the best thing about this book was the methods that were laid out in the beginning of the text. The author outlines two different ways to use the symbols. However both ways are meant to get an interpretation that suits the reader's unique needs. Thus, one particular symbol (an orange for instance) might have a number of different meanings depending upon the specific context or situation. The reader looks through these alternatives (16 different options for orange) to determine the message for them.

I really like the ability to tailor my finding to my own situation. I am a unique individual. Why wouldn't my readings be unique as well?
