This is a lovely piece of historical fiction that will take you back to a time and place you can only imagine.  Lillian Haswell has been working in her father’s apothecary shop and helping to raise her mentally challenged brother since her mother abandoned her family three years ago.  She has a knack for medicine and a wonderful memory.  Her friendship with Mary and her comfort in the ease of her daily work keep her torn between life in the apothecary shop and fulfilling her …
