One Christmas I got a box set of the first four books which had just came out. Since then, I have read almost every single one in the series. That was about 15 years ago and I am still reading some new ones. They are a great series for any little girl to get addicted to. There are so many different stories and scenarios that I would always wait to see what they were going to get into next. They became like my friends. The different girls … more
I remember getting 'The Babysitter's Club book at a local book store in my home town when I was 13 years old. That day I went home and started to read the book. I didn't realize I was meeting my best friends for the next 3 years. I met Kristy, Claudia, Stacy, Mallory, Jessie, and MaryAnn that day and I still can picture what they look like. These girls became my best friends during my 'awkward' years. If I was feeling down I turned to these girls to cheer me up. I remember staying … more
When i read this book I really felt like part of club. I felt really excited as learned more about everyone and how the club had ended up happening. I learned how they had despite their different backgrounds, upbringings and their current ways of living brought them so close together. This is a very exciting book for tweens it shows them the world through their own eye's, it shows common problems how they are overcome, It shows how coming to a new neighborhood is terrifying … more
The Babysitter's Club series revolves around seven girls (and later nine girls) who have formed a babysitting agency. The girls are junior high age. Around about the time I first discovered this book series I was helping my grandmother babysit. With each new book you felt like you knew the girls personally. I think I even kept a few books. I will see and pass them along to my daughter who wants to babysit to earn money and see what she thinks.
I love this series. I started reading them when I was 8 and still continue to til this day. It is a great "tween" series and perfect for a quick simple read.
The Babysitter's Club just about summarizes up my childhood. Martin played a major role in my life creating these unique characters with different backgrounds. The one thing that comes to mind and helped me through my preteens years are the trials these girls were going through at the time. Even if I couldn't relate at the time, that built up excitement in me even more. I will always have fond memories of the The Babysitter's Club.
This is a cute story. I read it when I was about the girls' in the story's age and I loved when the girls got together and started the Babysitter's Club. I was like, "Great idea!" when I read that. lol I enjoyed reading it and wanted to start my own babysitter's club after I had read it.
