Review of "The Book of Satanic Quotations: A Compendium of Citations, Phrases and Adages Spanning Centuries of Diabolica" edited by Matt G. Paradise. Don't let the title fool you. This text is purely secular in nature and includes quotations of philosophical insight and observations of historical and contemporary presences from Edward Abbey to Frank Zappa and every notable in between. The phrases are centered around the concepts of human power, self assuredness, and negative and positive facets of psychology (among others) supporting individuality and ruggedness of the human spirit. It stands as a testament to the philosophy of human independence and the transparent motives of the weak and insecure. As a purveyor of motivational quotes supporting individual success I was pleased with this book and have used it many times in the short time I have owned it. Nice work by Paradise in compiling it. I recommend it to every person not afraid to walk alone after being culled from the herd by his or her own hand. Five stars without hesitation, but I would rate it at six if I could!
