I have never read anything from Gayle Lynds, but the blurb sounded interesting, so I took a chance. While it's been touted as Da Vinci Code meets Bourne Identity, I can't say that I completely agree. It doesn't give near the detail in the story that Dan Brown does, but you get the general idea I guess. She does provide great background on the Library of Gold in the Author's Notes at the end of the book. Don't get me wrong, The Book of Spies is a great novel that kept me up later than usual. The …

Gayle Lynds is one of my favorite writer of thrillers today. She tells an exciting story, there are views of foreign and exotic places, and enough action to keep you riveted to your favorite reading chair.    The plot of this latest book concerns a collection of lost books from Byzantium, which may of may not have ended up in Russia.
