Okay, did he plaigerize from the F. Scott Fitzgerald story,The Curious Case of Benjamin Button or not? I'm sure that this question will be pondered again and again, thanks in part the new Brad Pitt movie of the same name, due out on Christmas. But either way, it doesn't matter to me because I love Andrew Sean's Greer's novel, The Confessions of Max Tivoli. Basically, even if Greer lifted the idea from the C.C. of B. Button, it is his amazingly fluid, masterful writing that makes his novel such a treasure. His readers are drawn into Max Tivloi's world almost effortlessly, and intimately get to know and love each character. I swear, you get emotionally invested in this story, and whether you give it one read or seven (I've read it twice), you'll still find yourself sincerely hoping and rooting for one outcome even though you know just how the story will end. And living in San Francisco, you know I was loving the period and setting. I'm into historical fiction.
