I seem to keep giving Mr. King all 5 stars. Well, so what!? His books are worth it. I took my time with this book because I knew it was the last one in the series and I didn't want it to end. The ending will send chills up your spine and you get closer and closer to the Dark Tower. The journey, the roses, Roland, the history... King is one of the masters!!

When I finally got around to reading this series, I made a liar out of myself! I enjoyed every other book that King has written and have read most of them. BUT I didn't like the sound of DARK TOWER and the cowboy in all that desert, so I told everyone I liked ALL his books except the DARK TOWER series. Well, I finally read one and was hooked right from the start, and that's how I made a liar of myself. I then went on to read them all. Now, like many other King fans, I hate to see the series end.   &n …

Pros: there is a conclusion but no end     Cons: I didn't want to enter the clearing at the end of the path     The Bottom Line: An outstanding series, even if you aren't a King fan     In the final installment of this series we resume the story with Susannah/Mia in the throes of childbirth, Father Callahan & Jake following her path trying to save her, and Eddie & Roland wandering the woods of Maine after meeting up with the word slinger, …

I give this 3 stars only because I rate items based on past books as reference points and I have read a lot worse but this was the worst of the series. Stephen King let too much time pass as he went from one DT book to the next and it's clear that he wasn't ready to write these last 3 books, only rushing through these because of his near death experience. Of the 3 "new" DT books this one is the worst. I think that book 6 was suprisingly good, but SK should have written these last books 1 at a time …

At last, the long trek of Roland and his ka-tet has come to an end(?). Those of us who have been faithful followers of this journey for many years must feel some type of relief just to have it done! Once again, Mr. King has labored and brought forth another doorstopper of a book, winding up (so to speak) his gunslinger's multi-thousand page search for the Dark Tower. It's a book of joys and sadness, heroism and heartbreak, and I won't spoil the plot for anyone who has not yet read it. There is going …

I closed the book after turning the last page, and sat for a time, thinking.    How can I possibly sum up what I was feeling at that moment? I've been reading about Roland and his companions for about 16 years -- just over half my life, do ye ken it -- and now it's finally done. King reached the ending to his long tale, and I came along for the ride with him, all the way to the very end. Though some moments were wondrous, some terrifying, and some sad beyond words, I saw it through. …
