    First, and most importantly, The Dragon Reborn is the most memorable book of the series thus far.  What is most intriguing is the decline of innocence and each characters' vulnerability to drastic change.  This fact is especially true with Rand, Mat, and Perrin.  You see each character turn to their own path.  Just as prophecy suggests, Rand must face unbearable responsibility, piling death, and bold female relationships.  Perrin makes a connection …

I had the luxury of diving directly into The Dragon Reborn after completing The Great Hunt a night prior. As such, there are some definite comparisons to be made although not everything in this third book of the series can be considered an improvement.    To begin, Jordan deserves praise for advancing the maturity of the characters without overdoing it. The story continues. I have to admit to enjoying this series so far. As with the first two books, my comments pertain to just this single work and not to the entire series. This third volume seemed to me to be a bit repetative at times, and for my personal taste, the story line did not hold my interest as much as the first two books. This book was very good and features one of my favorite fight sequences between Matt, Galad, and Gawyn. Personally, that scene alone is worth reading this book. Like the title says, it is not as good as "the Great Hunt", but I also enjoyed it more than "Eye of the World."The characters develop a lot more in this book. Throughout this book you can definately see how the saying "the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills" holds true in the world.This book is one of the shorter novels in the series thus far …
