   I think I can safely say this is the best book I have ever read, and by far the best book in the dark tower series. This book had everything. Great character development, elements of fantasy, horror, suspense, and even a wild west esque shootout. After reading this I couldnt wait to get started on the third book in the series. The drawing of the three sets up the next two books beautifully. We really get to see the bond that Roland, Eddie, and Susannah all build together. The back story …

I'm a huge fan of the Dark Tower series in general, but I have to say that this book is the best of the series so far."The Gunslinger" makes for a fine introduction to the world of Roland and his ongoing quest for the Dark Tower at the center, and the newly-revised version is definitely an improvement over the original.
