Reading KILL ME TWICE by Jerry Bayne before THE GATHERER was good for me in that it allowed me to enjoy his range and appreciate his talent. So many look for success in making bestseller's lists are being published by some of the biggest publishing houses. Bayne shows that what really sets you apart is the ability to write a tightly woven storyline with characters that you want to know more about. He has done that twice now, showing he can sit with the literary big boys on any bookshelf at any time. …

Happily this work …

This supernatural/investigative book showed up on my doorstep the other day, and it was an enjoyable read... The Gatherer by Jerry Bayne. Bayne is a first-time author who does a good job with his plot and pacing. As with most books, nothing is perfect (especially the first time you try it!) But I hope this won't be his only foray into the book-writing world.    Dr. Carey Blake (a woman) and Father Frank Daniel, long-time friends, are thrown together on a special project driven …
