Once again, Reacher arrives at a destination and trouble seeks him out and gets him in the middle of a situation.      In this tenth episode of the Jack Reacher saga, Reacher is enjoying his coffee outside of a restaurant in New York. From his many years as a Military Police Officer, he's fully observant of his surroundings. He spots a man cross his line of vision, get into a Mercedes and drive off.      The next night, Reacher is back at the …

The first Jack Reacher novel I read was "One Shot." Immediately after I finished reading it, I started "The Hard Way" by Lee Child. I know I need to go back and read some of the earlier books of the series, and I plan to, but these were available. I really like Jack Reacher as a thinking action hero, and how Lee Child writes his thriller suspense tales. I enjoyed "The Hard Way" just as I enjoyed "One Shot."    There were a number of things I figured out before they were revealed …

The book that I had been saving for vacation was The Hard Way by Lee Child. There is nothing like having a Reacher novel while sitting on the beach.      Reacher is in New York, enjoying an espresso in a coffee house, when he notices a man walk up to a car, open it, and drive away. There was just something about the man that made Reacher notice (and as an ex-MP, Reacher is very good at noticing things). A day later, while Reacher is sitting in the same cafe, a very military-type …

The Hard Way is Lee Child's 10th novel featuring Jack Reacher, the ex-Army MP, drifter, and finder of trouble, a character many this series' fans have come to enjoy. The Hard Way finds Reacher minding his own business in a New York City coffee shop when a man approaches him about a car he might have seen leave from across the street the night before. The next thing you know Reacher is meeting with Edward Lane, who hires him to find his kidnapped wife and step-daughter and their kidnapper. But Lane …

Millionaire/mercenary Edward Lane hires Jack Reacher to find his wife, Kate, and stepdaughter, Jade. Both were kidnapped on a shopping trip and Lane is willing to pay whatever it takes to get them back. Patti Joseph has been surveilling Lane and his group of killers since the kidnapping and subsequent death of her sister, Anne, several years earlier. Anne was Lane's former wife and Patti suspects he used her kidnapping as a cover-up for her murder. She puts Reacher in touch with former FBI agent, …

This tenth novel in the series plays on two of Jack Reacher's known quirks as well as on an underlying theme that has existed throughout the series. In this novel all three items are used to create a fast moving 371 page thriller and another very good read.    Along with his uncanny ability to know exactly what time it is without a watch, Reacher has always had exceptional powers of observation. Something that worked very well for him in his past life as a military policeman …

This is a book I've looked forward to for awhile... The latest Jack Reacher novel. The Hard Way by Lee Child is as good as I expected, and my only disappointment is that I have to wait for the next one...    Reacher is sitting quietly having a cup of coffee when he sees a car being driven off across the street. Only Reacher would notice it and be able to recite the details when a stranger asks him what he saw. This leads to him being taken to meet the leader of a mercenary group …

This is Lee Child's tenth Jack Reacher novel. Reacher is the modern hero. Rootless. Anonymous. He has no roots, nothing. His luggage is the clothes on his back and a collapsible toothbrush. Trouble never fails to find Reacher. He doesn't look for it: it unerringly finds him.     This time, Reacher is in New York City, just sitting enjoying his coffee. He idly watches a man get into a car and drive away. The next evening, Reacher is once agin sitting in the same cafe when a man …
