The Masters is my favorite of C.P. Snow's Strangers and Brothers series, but I'd have to confess, I love the whole series and struggled to collect the set when I was in college--yes, at Cambridge University, England. the novel centers on the choosing of a new Master as the old Master lies dying, and, of course, the author knows exactly what he's writing about.
