"The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" is the story of Precious Ramotswe who, rebounding from a disastrous marriage to an abusive jazz musician and the heart-breaking loss of her premature baby, uses money she has inherited from her deceased father's cattle operation to start up a private investigation business.
