   The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a gripping story of growing up and of finding out what it even means to grow up. Makes you think about what being a 'wallflower' means and makes you see how it really isn't a negative thing. I always considered myself to be a 'wallflower' and this made me come to see it as a good thing.

I haven't read it in years, but I would recommend this book to any teenager. I know it's a cliche for my generation, and in some ways it is overrated, but it's one of a handful of books that totally changed my life.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower was a book released in the late 90's. 1999 to be more precise.  In college I took a class on Young Adult Literature and we had a choice between which book we wanted to read.  It was either The Perks of Being a Wallflower or Twilight (ugh...).  I eventually ended up reading both, but The Perks of Being a Wallflower especially appealed to me.  From reading about the book, it seemed like it was a more fleshed out and modern day version of The …
