This is one of those books that you will love or hate. I really enjoyed it as I believe that the energy we put out there is what we get back. The book focuses on thinking positive and controlling your own destiny. If you are struggling in your life or feel like you are surrounded by negativity it is a good book to help get you back on track. There are some world renowned spiritual teachers involved in this book and I cannot imagine they can all be wrong. That being said it can be a little over the top at times, like everything is a fairy tale.

The book is broken down into sections: the secret of money, the secret of life, the secret of relationships, etc. Within each section each author gives their advice as to how to achieve that particular goal. The book is easy to read and the advice from each author is short and to the point. It sort of makes me think of a book of affirmations when I read it.

If you are in a rut then it is a good book to get you kick started. The advice is very motivating and you really start to feel a sense of control and positivity  as you read it. It is not completely realistic in the real world but the power of thought really can make a difference in how you address situations in your life and make decisions.

I enjoyed the secret. Reading this book made me feel like I have some control over my life and that made me feel a little bit better about  being able to deal with difficult situations that occur.

I would recommend this book because it brings back a positive attitude. I think this is very important in life and this book gives you some ideas on how to tap into that attitude.

The book basically is a book on the Law of Attraction which basically means what you put out to the Universe you will get back. If you focus on what you don't want in your life you will get more of that showing up. If you focus on your dreams and goals you will attract these things into your l

The purpose of this book is to help the reader tap into The Law of Attraction. The author mentions such tools such as a vision board to draw into your life what you are wanting to attract. There are other tools available as well.

I thought the Author did a good job with the book. I think by naming the book The Secret she made a wise choice since this will intrigue people to see what is inside.

The only con I saw with the book is that the author makes it seem so simple to get what you ask for. It almost seems at times that  The Universe is a candy store and you can order up anything you want and receive it if you really believe it.  But overall, the book is positive and I think will help you bring more positive experiences into your daily life.

This is simply one of the best books that i have ever read. It literally changed my life because of all the good info that was in the book. It made me realize that  i was not only in control of my own life but everything that was happening around me. After reading the book i was a more confident person with many new goals that i once thought was impossible. I got a chance to read the book and watch the movie, even though both shared the same information i was very happy about the way the book was put together with great information and how people can apply the secret to their life. It definitely is one of the best self help books that i have ever written.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that is looking to change their life for the better or anyone that just wants to read a very informative book. I literally changed because after i read the book i found out about the secret that was missing in my life. Even if you don't like to read, please watch the movie because the information is the same and this can really change your life, it can give you whatever you want.

I had a great time reading this book, because of the great information with a lot of testimonials throughout the book. Just an overall well put together book with great information that you can apply to everyday life. It's a must read for anybody that can read, the content is very easy to understand and easy to apply as well. If you haven't read this book yet, don't miss out.

What I got out of the Secret

The Secret definitely has it's pros and cons. i checked the book out of the library after having watched the original movie (where Esther Hicks/Jerry Hicks/Abraham) were included in the discussion of the enlightened experts featured in the film.

There tends to be a strong division between those readers who swear by this book and those readers who are bent on discrediting the author and the panel of experts in the film.

For me personally, I must say that the Secret book has served as a reminder to recalibrate and get on  my path during those times that I tend to allow negative thinking and the current reality to get me into a place where I keep manifesting more of what is (and frequently what I did not want) rather than turning to the principals outlined in this book to attract what I do want.

To begin with the book to me, is best used as a resource. I enjoyed having watched the film first and then taking the book as the written reminder of the Secret as told in the movie.

The "Secret" essentially is "thoughts become things". Yes, that easy. Watch and guard your thoughts for you attract that which you give your attention to. And I do realize that many people will argue this point particularly to those topics of natural disasters, war torn countries and poverty, child/sexual abuse etc.
I will admit that the idea of beings coming into this existence looking for such contrast is difficult to comprehend, I myself can not be one hundred per cent certain that it is not so and thus I resonate with the idea of being a co-creator in my current reality.  So I watched the film and then checked out the book from the library and took copious notes. About two years later I found the book at a used book sale and now own my own copy.

For me, the book was the start of a pathway that at times was a bit rocky but got me out of oppressive lack of money to the point where I really have no worries about my money any more.
I know i will have what i need and just relax. I am able to manifest jobs (I am a consultant) with clients that I desire and when my kids are in need of going to a certain function, scholarships, extra money etc come through and allow for that opportunity to take place without any kind of stress.

I can honestly attribute this change in energetic thought back to 2006 when I first read the Secret.
I have not had the same luck with relationships yet I can recognize energetically via the Secret and its teachings that I actually am the cause for the dysfunction as I tend to focus on the yuckiness of what is. It is a learning process that I am striving to correct and I just have to remember to put the principles of the Secret into that manifestation but relationships are much more challenging to me to manifest than jobs and money.

Hope this review helps some

A shortcut to read what the universal spiritual sense teaches. Kind of a bible without God. You can read Proverbs and earn much more!

Absolutely atrocious abortion of rational thinking. It takes a simple concept like positive thinking and tries to spin it as the magical answer to everything. It quote mines most of the historical figures it mentions. The whole "law of attraction" is bogus, as it WILL NOT work. Those who tell you it does work are guilty of selection bias and the placebo effect.

Though not widely publicized and thus not very well known the Secret is one of the best self help books, also made into a movie with real life accounts, of our generation.  Though at times it seems that the book becomes over dramatic and too farfetched from your personal life the overall message be sent is unbelievably valuable. The Secret emphasizes a principle call the “law of attraction” which basically states that a person’s mental wavelengths concentrated on something hard enough can cause that thing or even to happen. Though most people (including myself) are initially skeptical about this it is easily tested on one self. I for one was very skeptical when introduced to this principle but since then have tested it on several occasions only to see incredible results. Even if the principle in itself is inherently irrational and nonfunctioning the law of attraction builds up an individual’s self confidence and focus onto something specific to a point where he or she is able to achieve it. So, skeptical or not, I would highly encourage anyone with an ambitious goal or two to read this book and try to apply the principles explained to your goal. You never know, the thing you want the most could be just a few brainwaves away.

Very intersting ideas on the powers of the mind and believing in what you want in life. I think it could be possible, but I cannot say for sure. It is very thought provoking and makes you wonder if you can really make things happen by believing them

I didn't like how repetitive it is, and how they only tell you to do one thing, and that you don't have to work at all to achieve goals. It only has one good message in it.

I find it useful for every person. Tells us about common things anr rules in the Universe. But most people don't remember them, and if even remember - don't use in everyday life. It's a pity((
