Naomi Klein takes on the enormous task of reveling American foreign policy and the effects of disaster capitalism. She starts right in with describing America's stance on torture and how it is a standard part of our military operation. Then she explore's the use of these tactics in overthrowing the democratically elected governments of South America and Iran to name a few. It is a fantastic view into the imperialist tactics displayed by the worlds super powers for the ill gotten gains of the super rich. It is a very long read but should you embark, you will be filled with information that will make you look differently while watching the media and their portrayal of the "bad guys"- countries that don't go along with the western idea of democracy which equals capitalism. Not to mention an in depth look at the war with Iraq that will put things into perspective. I suggest this a must read for anybody looking to gain insight on the free-market ideology and how destructive it has become.
