A fair read, but I felt that it was more of a daytime "soap opera" drama than a compelling piece of fiction.

What a wonderful plot for a young adult book. What could be more heart wrenching? A tragic battle between love and death. Boy meets girl. Boy wants to eat girl, yet boy is madly in love with girl. The series I should mention is not only for teens. I've known a few adults to have gotten off on the vampire romance. Though some cynics may throw the word beastiality around, the sexual tension is what keeps the pages a turnin' and the sales a rollin.' With that in mind, the novel should be recommended …

Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer, is a great YA book to draw in readers. I think it is amazing that this story was created via a dream Stephenie had. I am a student of writing (my BA and pursuing my MFA), and I read the book last year. While I was sucked in by the story, I was not at all excited by the execution of Twilight. Though, this is coming through the eyes of a 22 year old. If I was a teenager or younger, it wouldn't have mattered at all to me. I found Stephenie's over exaggerations …

if you like the quick beating heart of reliving high school's first love, this is good. if you want serious plot, not so much!

I first read this book four years ago and I instantly fell in love with it. Bella Swan is your average nobody. She feels as if she is plain and is extremely quiet. I identified with her very well. When she moves to Forks, WA, to live with her dad, she meets Edward Cullen. After a rocky start to their relationship she gets to know him extremely well. He is everything a girl could want,l Handsome, Charming, Polite, Mysterious. She finds out that he is a 100 year old Vampire. Eventually …

the first, but least action packed of the Twilight saga, a beautiful love story.

definitely entertaining. not anything that will make you smarter, but a great way to spend a lazy sunday -

While the romance of the book can be appealing at points, the text itself is poorly written (and that is an understatement).

Great storytelling. Ya, its YA fiction and ya, its cheesy, but Stephenie Meyer is a really great storyteller and almost everyone who reads it can't deny that it really sucks you in.

At least this book is making a lot of lazy readers start reading. Nice romance but nothing to add.

Twilight has its flaws but it did reinvent the vampire genre (at least for me). I was missing Anne Rice and although not of the same caliber, Twilight did reignite that fire.

It moves a little slow. But it is a nice simple book.

Literary quality=0 but somehow Meyer manages to keep you reading despite the thick block of cheese this book is.
Quick Tip by . July 10, 2010
Not only a vapid embarrassment to the urban fantasy genre, but a frightening portrayal of the ease with which girls and women with low self-esteem can have their most pathetic dreams gang-raped to give birth to a billion-dollar franchise.

Honestly ... Vampires glittering??? What is that about? I am used to the vampires are evil and sexy in their own way but this takes it to a whole new level.  Frankly I was sorely disapointed in this book series/movie.  Vampires do not glitter in the sunlight, they burn up and turn into dust.  They are suposed evil being from Hell.  Not some magical creatures that have a heart and soul.  They only show the lovey dovey crap and that is not all they are …

Weak prose is made up for with engaging plot in Stephanie Myers's Twilight.

I refuse to read any more of Stephenie Meyer's crap after I have wasted my time reading all four books in the Twilight series. Having said that, the first book is actually not that bad, the only one worth reading out of the four. We've all experienced it or wanted to experience: the head-over-heels-can't-live-without-you love. And girls want to be that one who gets to change the bad boy and make him settle with them. Meyer does her magic of making the readers think that they are Bella, …

The storyline was impossible not to become immersed in. The writing was ehhh. Originally, I was embarrassed to say that I was reading this book but honestly, it was a quick read and it entertained me, so it was worth it.

Typical flavoring of teenage lust and angst. Vampires thrown in for some obvious and fairly predictable metaphors. Oh and werewolves, why? Because we can

Didn't hold my interest at all.
Quick Tip by . July 04, 2010
The book is written for younger audiences and it is not written above a 5th grade level.

This is my first review, so be nice. It also contains spoilers, so if you haven’t read the book, you’ve been warned. Twilight, the ever popular series written by Stephenie Meyer, has taken the entire world by storm with its vampire saga dealing with the love between a vampire boy and a human girl. Some crazed fans even refer to the series as “Romeo and Juliet with a twist and a happy ending.”   Not only has the series succeeded on the bestseller list, it also …

This book was written for 16 year old girls. If that's your thing, then go for it.

get lost into the story very easily
