Unexpectedly Enjoyable!

This is such a good book that had me from the first few pages. Milo Slade is such a fun character. Afflicted by the need to do weird things like feel the vacuum seal break on jelly jars, breaking ice cubes from their tray and having to bowl a strike (at any time of the day or night), Milo has kept all of these things secret from his now estranged wife. Milo works as a home assistant to elderly people who have their own quirks such as a woman that insists Milo rake her carpet and a gentlemen who likes to take viagra and then watch internet porn.

Milo's life is changed one day when he finds a video camera with several video tapes in the bag that hold the camera. He starts watching the tapes and finds that it is a type of video diary of a woman who confesses some of her deepest secrets. Milo is so enthralled with her and tries to locate her and to then help her solve a mystery that has plagued her all of her life.

Throughout the book the author keeps throwing one interesting character after another and some of them, Milo meets when he need to satisfy one of his weird urges, like watching a classic movie he has seen many times and hoping that the ending will be different this time around.

The book never lets down from start to finish. The reader likes Milo, quirks and all from the start and is always pleasantly amusing when a new urge comes to the forefront.

Highly recommended!
