Wasted should be required reading for anyone who works with those suffering from eating disorders. The development of the character is incredibly well written and well done. It seems strange to list such a raw, painful, and graphic account of eating disorders as among one's favorite books, but in all honesty, it is. I've read it at least five times, mostly in my high school and early college years. This book really gives a great insight to people who suffer from eating disorders. The honesty throughout her struggles is beyond me. I think this book also raises great awareness on a potentially deadly issue our society faces.
