Some of the best political cartoons ever created

  • Jun 3, 2010
It takes a sharp pen to draw the narrow lines of a detailed cartoon, but the sharpest characteristic of Danzinger's pens is the probing that it does into the sensitive areas of the administration of George W. Bush. The number of failures of the Bush administration is amazingly high, in quantity and quality, both foreign and domestic.
Danzinger's cartoons are honest and to the point, although one must possess some knowledge of the history of the eight years in order to truly appreciate the depth of the point. Danzinger is a Vietnam veteran and my favorite cartoon appears in the foreword by Frank Miller. It shows the heads of fifteen famous conservatives and one famous liberal poking out from under a bed. The caption is "We Weren't Soldiers! They experienced the Hell of Vietnam (from a Nice Safe Place)." This is a demonstration of a semi-truism of the American political landscape, namely that it is the people that avoided serving in a war that are generally the most willing to send their nation into war. These are some of the best political cartoons ever drawn.
