Due to the nature of pain symptoms, Fibromyalgia sufferers often find it very difficult to exercise. Yoga is a good choice. The movements gently stretch out tight muscles and relieve tension. Moreover, it is possible to adapt a program for those times when pain or other Fibromyalgia related symptoms are at their worst.

Yoga for Fibromyalgia is the book that I have trying to find for a good long while. This valuable resource shows a variety of yoga postures (complete with color photographs) showing how they can be adapted on those bad days. Many of these movements can be done while you are sitting at the computer or watching television to relieve tension.

Near the end of the book, the author also shows how to combine the positions to create daily routines. Specifically with Fibromyalgia symptoms in mind, the book includes realistic ready made programs for pain relief (upper body, lower body, or general as needed), for fatigue, and for good days.
