Luxury Ski In Ski Out in Jackson Hole

Four Seasons has developed a reputation for having great service and great location. Jackson Hole is no exception. Literally right on the mountain in what is called the Teton Village. It can be a little tedious just reviewing all the normal aspects of a Four Seasons because it's like:
  • service: awesome
  • location: awesome
  • food: awesome
  • bed: awesome
  • everything else: awesome

So i will focus my review on some other important issues... basically how do you experience all of this awesomeness without breaking the bank and how do you get the most out it while you're there.

Off Season Travel:
I didn't know this before we got there, but this hotel (like a lot of others in the area) shuts down for almost 1 month in the fall and the spring in between their big ski and summer seasons.  We were here in the mid October and they were about to shut down so there wasn't anyone there!!  They said they were at 23% capacity, but we ran into someone in the elevator once and they were so excited to see us because we were the only other people they had seen at the resort.  So not only do we have the run of the place, but we got a sick deal too.

Normally room rates during the high season will start at $525 and go up.  So we got a rate of $275 but a third night free which brings the nightly rate down to $183/night!!  Full run of the place and only pay $183/night... We love off season travel!!

Room selection:
The cheaper rooms face the valley and Gros Ventres Mountains and not the ski mountain.  But for off season travel, the view is better toward the Gros Ventres because you can look right out to the famous Sleeping Indian (the top of the Gros Ventres mountains looks like a sleeping indian on his back with a large belly... Gros Ventres means big belly in french... coincidence... i think not) and the sunrise over the Sleeping Indian is spectacular.  Soooooo... stay in the cheapest room class and get the best view... done and done!  We stayed in room 746 (we moved to get a better view) so if you're interested in the view, you'll want the same angle as 746 has and at least that high up.

They have a nice selection of board games so we played Scrabble a couple of nights... once in the game room (which had a big screen TV so i could watch some football) and once in the main lobby bar in front of the fire.  It was a hard fought battle and on this night... Susan beat me.  When it's off season and you're the only guests in the place, you can do basically what ever you want, where ever you want.

Also, special shout out to Marty at the bell desk.  Great guy and very helpful. If you need to know anything about the fly fishing in the area or mountain bike trails, he will hook you up.
