Downtown Manhattan Beach has plenty of bars, restaurants, clothing boutiques and coffee shops. Now we have a bookstore!! That might sound weird for me to be so excited about a bookstore, but think about how cool that is. It's a throw back to a time when Amazon and big box book retailers didn't exist. It gives you the chance to walk in there, pick up a book, hold it, flip through a couple pages and imagine what story it tells.

Pages Bookstore was opened by 3 local women who love books. It's a little out of place in a town known for beach volleyball, not literature, and that's why I love it. When you walk in it's got such a great vibe. It's clean and organized and not too big. On the weekends, there are high school aged kids working in there and you can tell they love books. How awesome is it that there are still some kids out there who love books?

I really encourage everyone to buy their books from Pages because this type of establishment is good for Manhattan Beach. I hope their business flourishes!!
