The airline is headquartered in Miramar, Florida, in the Miami metropolitan area.^[1]Spirit currently maintains bases in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Detroit, Michigan. Over half of the airline's flights are to destinations in the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Latin America.

Spirit is the ish!

I flew into New York today via Spirit Airlines, which made me reflect on my experiences with them. I guess I've been a customer for about 7 or 8 years, and can only say the bad experience I've had is turbulence in the air. First, their rates are always very competitive. You should just note that their rates don't include checking in luggage, that's about $25/bag. They have entertaining promotions...they have an "Eye of the Tiger" promotion … more
