My first exposure to 2000 AD came when I was just 8 years old; it was 1984 and I received the 2000 AD Annual as a Christmas gift. I was already a child of the Star Wars generation, so the stories about lawmen in futuristic cities, genetically engineered soldiers and robot hunters really struck a chord with me. I remember reading it from cover to cover numerous times in the subsequent days and months, obsessively examining each panel and trying to copy the drawings I saw. Soon after getting that …
