2011 (MMXI) will be a common year starting on Saturday. In the Gregorian calendar, it will be the 2011th year of the Common Era or the Anno Domini designation; the 11th year of the 3rd millennium and of the 21st century; and the 2nd of the 2010s decade.
The United Nations has designated 2011 the International Year of Forests and International Year of Chemistry.
They say good things come to those who wait so does that apply to our ailing economy? I was pretty much on the money with my predictions for 2010. Well, 2010 has come and gone and now just around the corner is 2011. There's a lot coming up in the political arena because of the upcoming 2012 Presidential election. This will definitely be survival of the fittest. There are a lot of Presidential hopefuls and prospects but exactly who. I'm saying there's a lot … more
2010 was a very good year for me. I was knocking down obstacles left and right for awhile during that timespan. In fact, 2010 was setting up 2011 to be an even better year. While it definitely wasn't as awesome as I'd hoped it would be, 2011 could have been a lot worse. The beginning of the year was decent. January found me visiting New Orleans (which is always fun) and finally getting around to completing a couple of major tasks at work. … more
Not a bad year at all. It was actually a better year for me than 2010. Movie-wise, the year was a little lacking, and I reviewed less, and saw less. But 2011 brought new friendships, made me ponder a lot of things and I learned more about myself. It was fun getting to visit Asia again in 2011 (despite it was more business) but I do hope to a better 2012! 2 days Before Dec. 21, 2012 (the supposed end times predicted by some folks), I will tell all the women I had a crush … more
A pretty productive year for me- I got a degree, married, my driver's license and a car. I'm incredibly excited to end it in Puerto Rico and start the new year there as well. Looking back, this year was full of ups and downs, gains and losses, and new life lessons. Grateful for the past and looking forward to the future, I can't wait to see what 2012 brings. Happy New Year!
A very volatile year with many natural disasters with the Japanese tsunami one of the saddest. Other than there, there is the earthquakes in Christchurch, floods in Thailand and Philippines. Some famous people passed away (Taylor and Jobs) and the European crisis still unresolved. Generally quite an uneventful year for me but peace is all that anyone can ask for these days! I'm not looking forward to 2012 at all since there had been many adverse predictions!
