I don't go to the movies very often so when I do I want to make it count. But today with all the new technology coming out (sound, picture and now 3D)… I feel like I might not get the best experience if I'm in a theater that doesn't have the best equipment. What should I look for in a theater and how do I know if the theater has all the best equipment?? Thanks!

Hi, JR...I'd say it varies on each area, but.... I usually go for theaters equipped with SSDS (Sony Surround Digital System), THX-certified equipment and IMAX on some occasion. Theaters such as LOWES and AMC are usually so equipped and the logos are highly visible since these give theaters bragging rights. They also have some EXTREME Cinema branding but I think it is just a new name for DLP pictures and SSDS sound. Fandango.com has some great, detailed information on theaters (including seating style) when you click on the name. Hope that helps! :)
I'd have to say call your theater and talk to a manager to see what they have as far as seating, stereos and projectors. I'm stuck with only one theater around my parts, but at least it's a good theater.
