In my second year of college, a college professor of mine introduced the class to the AIDS LifeCycle, which is a 545 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles that happens each year throughout the first week of June.  The ride lasted seven days, and you camped out through various cities such as Santa Maria, Lompoc, Pismo, and Ventura.  When I first heard about it, I knew I definitely wanted to do it.     At first, I did it for the challenge.  Who can say …
