AMD's Hondo APU Will Only Support Windows 8 at Launch.
1 rating:
3.0
AMD's new Hondo APU will only support Windows 8 at launch, according to The Inquirer who spoke to Mr. Steve Belt, corporate VP of ultra-low power products. AMD is forgoing support for the Android OS for the time being; however, it is possible to install
AMD expects Windows 8 to have a market share of up to 20 percent for tablet devices and it hopes to do well by focusing its current hardware efforts at this important market segment. Its decision not to support the Android OS should not be due to technical issues as ASUS has demonstrated dual-booting Android alongside Windows 8 on their 18.4-inch ASUS Transformer AiO at COMPUTEX earlier this year.
