I want to make a video with pictures of my children as they grew up. Can someone suggest a song I could add to the video that would compliment the wonderful memories? Perhaps one that talks about growing up, and maybe even a tear jerker?

Excellent question, Brenda! I'm sure the video will be beautiful! What a wonderful idea.

Some songs I loved about growing up include:

  • "Return to Pooh Corner" sung by Kenny Loggins
  • "Lullaby (Goodnight, My Angel)" sung by Billy Joel
  • "Forever Young" sung by Bob Dylan
  • "Forever Young" sung by Rod Stewart
  • "Butterfly Kisses" sung by Bob Carlyle
  • "I Hope You Dance" sung by Leann Womack

Additional song I remembered:

  • "Kids" sung by Mike Douglas

These songs were suggested by my Facebook friends:

  • "Cats in the Cradle" sung by Harry Chapin
  • "The Men in My Little Girl's Life" sung by Mike Douglas
  • "Let Her Be a Little Girl (A Little Longer)" sung by Mike Douglas
  • "It Was a Very Good Year" sung by Frank Sinatra

If I think of anymore, I'll be sure to add to this list. I hope your children enjoy the video!

  • In My Life- The Beatles
  • When I Grow Up- Garbage
  • Cat's in the Cradle- Harry Chapin
  • Changes- David Bowie
  • Glory Days- Bruce Springsteen
  • Jack and Diane- John Cougar Mellencamp
  • Kids In America- Kim Wilde
  • We're Going To Be Friends- The White Stripes
  • Teach Your Children- Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
  • High School Never Ends- Bowling for Soup
  • Beautiful Boy- John Lennon
  • Keep It Between The Lines- Ricky Van Shelton
  • When I Grow Up To Be A Man- Beach Boys
  • Mama- Boyz II Men
  • You Raised Me Up- Josh Groban
  • You Are The Sunshine of My Life- Stevie Wonder
  • Bittersweet Symphony- Vitamin String Quartet (actually this is a great band that covers pop songs and changes them into string pieces)
  • My Wish- Rascal Flatts
  • Lean On Me- Bill WIthers
  • Just Older- Bon Jovi
  • Beast of Burden- Rolling Stones
  • Time Stand Still- Rush
  • Wind Beneath My Wings- Bette Midler (the tearjerker, possibly....)
  • This is the Time to Remember- Billy Joel
  • These Are The Days- 10,000 Maniacs
  • Also, if your boys have kids- Grandma's Hands by Bill Withers is a good one.
Hope these help! That is such a great idea!
