Wiki

Abercrombie and Fitch is an American chain retail store founded on June 4, 1892 by David T. Abercrombie. The chain struggled financially until it was bought by The Limited in 1988 and presented as "Casual Luxury."

Abercrombie and Fitch stores are located across the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom and are distinguishable by its dim lighting, strong Abercrombie scenets, and blaring house music.

Over the past few years, Abercrombie has been involved in many legal suits, controversy and criticism from employees and outside groups.  Because of the strict "uniform dress code" (Must be Abercrombie clothing) and similar model like looks of all employees, in 2004 a lawsuit Gonzales vs Abercrombie and Fitch was filed to highlight the issue of discrimination against hiring minorities. Abercrombie and Fitch paid out $45 million to affected employees and applicants, and also changed their practice to include more minorities in all aspects of their company.

Since then, Abercrombie has been criticized by many individuals and groups for various things: T shirts saying "Wong brothers laundry service -- two Wongs can't make it White," towards Chinese immigrants, "It's all relative in West Virginia" poking fun at the rural lifestyles in this area, and many shirts praising blonds "I had a nightmare I was brunette" and putting down women "Who needs a brain when you've got these."

Other brands associated with Abercrombie and Fitch include Hollister Co., abercrombie, RUEHL No. 25 and Gilly Hicks.

Too overpriced and all the clothes look the same. Can find some cute stuff occasionally though, good for polos.
