Save for "Achtung Baby," the Nineties weren't too kind to Bono and the boys. "Zooropa" was too trippy for those accustomed to their Earth-grounded, ground-shaking, shaky-hearted anthems of the Eighties, and "Pop" was misdirected and self-indulgent. In this release from Irish rock superstars U2, Bono's voice is not what it once was, but U2's musical textures and Bono's songwriting skills have not been left behind. The recent U2 CD, All That You Can't Leave Behind is both consistent and mature from start to finish. Yes, Beautiful Day is an energetic single but there are so many other captivating tunes on this fine collection.My personal faorite is the gospel flavored Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of. Beautiful vocals and organ accompanyment.
