Amazon added a bar code scanner feature to their mobile app making comparison shopping that much easier when on the go. I'm a big amazon shopper and this will make my life much easier, if I can find the same product in store and online for the same price, I buy the online product every time.

The app is simple and easy to use, just open the app go to the search tab and click scan, point the camera at the bar code and within a few seconds the product you are holding will pull up on the screen with pricing information. But that's not all you get, you also get the information about the product to help make a buying decision.

A great tool to help avoid checkout lines and save money, and it's free.

Oooooh, very cool! I've been using Red Laser and Google Goggle for bar code scanning, but now that I know that an actual shopping site has it, I may very well just switch over. Thanks for the heads up, Jim!
