Anders Behring Breivik (born 13 February 1979 in Oslo) is a Norwegian citizen and the admitted perpetrator of the 2011 Norway attacks, in which he killed at least 76 people. Police reports describe him as a right-wing extremist, and Christian fundamentalist.

Breivik's anti-multiculturalist and right-wing militant nationalist islamophobic ideologies were outlined in an online 1,518-page manifesto 2083 – A European Declaration of Independence, posted on the day of the attacks under the anglicised pseudonym Andrew Berwick. In it, Breivik described himself as "moderately religious", "the savior of Christianity" and "the greatest defender of cultural-conservatism in Europe since 1950".

Police initially believed he acted alone but did not rule out the possibility of an accomplice. During interrogation, he claimed that there were two cells of extremists who had aided him. The court held a closed-to-the-public arraignment hearing on July 25 denying Breivik the opportunity to use the hearing as a platform for his views. The court charged him with acts of terrorism under the criminal law and ordered that he be held for eight weeks, the first four in solitary confinement, pending further court proceedings.

Whatever his "grand" designs are, like his father said, he might as well kill himself! Is the guy trying to change the world or is he trying to change his world?      Taking innocent lives can never be the way, can it?!      For a country like Norway, where it was once the safest and one which has the highest GDP per capita in the world, this incident must have sent shocks and aftershocks in its society!
