Wiki

Angry Birds is a puzzle video game developed by Finland-based Rovio Mobile, in which players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield. Inspired by a simple sketch of stylized wingless birds, the game was first released for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch devices in December 2009. Since that time, over 12 million copies of the game have been purchased from Apple's App Store, which has prompted the company to design versions for other touchscreen-based smartphones, including those using the Android and the Symbian^3 operating systems. Rovio Mobile has supported Angry Birds with numerous free updates that add additional game content, and the company has even released stand-alone holiday versions of the game.

Angry Birds has been praised for its successful combination of addictive gameplay, comical style and low price. The characters have appeared in other media, such as a sketch on an Israeli comedy series in which the birds and pigs satirized the real-life peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Its popularity has spawned proposals to create versions of Angry Birds for personal computers and gaming consoles, a market for merchandise featuring its characters and even long-range plans for a feature film or television series. With over 50 million downloads across all platforms, the game has been called "one of the most mainstream games out right now" and "one of the great runaway hits of 2010".

Total carnage! I LOVE IT!
Hi...my name is Rich, and I'm a Birdaholic.      Angry Birds is the most frustrating, delightful, maddening and addictive casual game to come along since Tetris.      The premise is simple - use a slingshot to fling different types of birds through the air to attack structures built by pigs who stole your eggs. The structures are made of wood, glass, and stone in different configurations, and the birds you're throwing have different attributes and …

When I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet (10.1 inch model) last November, I had to download Angry Birds off Google Play's store.       This game is like crack.  This game is fun, but it's too addicting.  Who would have thought that a game where you use various types of birds as slingshot fodder to attack evil green pigs and their dwellings would catch on like wildfire?      I'm the type of guy who'd rather sit in front of my …

Ridiculously Addicting
I went into the iPhone app store not knowing what to buy, but when I saw the number of positive reviews for this game I felt I had to buy it. It was only .99 cents and may very well be the best .99 cents I've ever spent on a game.      The concept of the game is simple: shoot various birds with different abilities at a collapsible structure in order to destroy enemy pigs. If it sounds extremely ridiculous, it is. If it sounds repetitive and boring, it's not. There's …
