I am a traditional sort of guy who is not often prone to experiment with new personal hygiene products. But when the opportunity was presented to pluck a bottle of Unilever's brand new "Axe Total Fresh Head-to-Toe Clean" off the Amazon Vine I thought I would give it a whirl. Generally, I shower with bar soap and water only and the soap is usually devoid of additives including deodorants. Just the basics. But I have often wondered if I am missing out by not at least trying some of these new "all-in-one" products to see what all the fuss is about. Well, now I have my answer......I don't think so.
Showering with "Axe Total Fresh Head-to-Toe Clean" was OK but frankly I disliked having to fiddle around with a bottle the whole time. Perhaps someone who is doing hard physical labor for a living would appreciate this product more than I would. I do office work for a living and frankly I don't get all that dirty or sweaty most of the time. In terms of shampooing I thought that the product was satisfactory...nothing more, nothing less. I much prefer my regular shampoo. As for the rest of my shower I did feel refreshed but it was not noticably different than the way I usually feel using regular bar soap. I strongly suspect that at the end of the day this product when applied liberally would prove to be at least several times more expensive to use than regular bar soap. Furthermore "Axe Total Fresh Head-to-Toe Clean" is a gel and I am alway leery of such products. I have had problems with gels like "Edge" shaving cream and "Dawn" dishwashing liquid clogging up my pipes. No, I think I will be sticking with plain old bar soap and regular shampoo. I will confine my use of the rest of this bottle of "Axe" to those hot summer days when I am working around the yard and would probably appreciate it the most. My verdict: I won't go so far as to say "Not Recommended". Rather, in my view "Axe Total Fresh Head-to-Toe Clean" is simply "Not Necessary".
