I know after reading Twilight we all expect young adult fiction to be fabulous and airy, and perhaps that is what I thought I was getting myself into when I read this book. After reading the summary of it and an excerpt I decided to pick it up at my local bookstore. All in all I think it had a depth that was missing from some other young adult fiction. The problem I had with it was the fact that the end was somewhat inconclusive and there was no indication that a sequel would be making its way to bookstores in the near future if at all. I'm not trying to turn anyone off the book, it had some characters that I loved and it made me feel for them (getting angry at those who threatened them, and the like). The story unfolds in mystery and keeps you wanting more. All in all a book a would recommend reading but, borrowing not buying.
