In a monumental miscarriage of justice Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga was denied a perfect game on Wednesday when umpire Jim Joyce clearly blew a call at first base with two outs in the ninth and declared that Cleveland Indians shortstop Jason Donald was safe. It is horrendous that it happened, but as far as I know the MLB has never gone back after a game and changed the call, even if it was missed. The real problem is that they weren't able to use instant replay. They don't need to change the call, they need to change the rules and allow instant replay to be used on calls besides what they now can review.
