This product is a great concept, however... I found that it leaves white residue on your clothes. The residue is a waxy white residue (like a bar of soap or white crayon mark). Sometimes the residue is hard to spot, but it happened each time I used this product. It happens more on clothes with rough fabric, like for example... a pair of jeans. I can't imagine that this problem only happens with my drier. I do have an older dryer that uses heat & tumble cycle drying method. Obviously, I can't recommend … more
First off, let me say, the accusations of people not knowing how to install these seem slightly more than crazy to me. Installation consists of peel, stick and press. After reading the reviews for this product, I was terrified to use it. For the first several laundry loads, I made it a point to wash only clothes that wouldn't make me cry if they were ruined. I also opened the dryer several times during the cycle to make sure the bar was still stuck to the side of the machine. … more
While I love Bounce dryer sheets, this bar has so far been a disappointment. Noting the warnings in other reviews, I tried the bar with a white only load to avoid streaking my dark clothes. With the white clothes, there were no problems with streaking and the first load came out smelling fresh. However, the bar fell out of its holder on the first try and was clunking around the dryer. I tried it for 2 more loads and by the 3rd time, the fresh smell was very faint and the bar was smaller in size … more
I'm not sure if the description hadn't yet been completed when I requested this product or if I just didn't notice the warning: this product is not for use if you have kids, because it ruins the flame-resistance of their pajamas. The problem, of course, is that you can't just take the bar in and out when you're washing pajamas. It's stuck there. From what I understand, the bar has been reformulated since the initial bad reviews about how it doesn't stay on, but in addition … more
I have been using them for months now and never had a problem with residue or anything like that. I do have to remove the bars for certain washes that require no softener or dryer sheets, but thats not a problem. I have had the holder come loose before, but it restuck and I haven't had a problem with the others at all. As a mom of two who does at least 1-2 loads of laundry every day, the times last about half of what it says, which I figured they would being that I do a LOT of laundry. They actually … more
Let me first say I love Bounce dryer sheets. I never buy any other, and part of the reason is because I love the strong scent (and that I can open the linen closet and still smell that classic Bounce scent a week after I've washed towels.) The Bounce Dryer Bar has the same classic, strong scent, which is fine by me! I could even smell it through the Amazon box, which is my idea of a good, strong scent. But upon opening the box, WHEW! Even for ME, this … more
The bounce dryer bar is a pretty good idea and they work fairly well. They will leave your clothes smelling absolutely wonderful. The scent is much stronger than most fabric softener sheets. I have tried the Fresh Linen scent and the Outdoor Fresh scent and they both smell great but the Outdoor Scent would be my favorite. This package claims to last two months and that may be the case if you only do one small load of laundry every other day but in our household it lasted about one month. One average … more
The problem with this product is that the bar is exposed. It should be enclosed in a plastic grid or mesh. As it is, on a long drying cycle on a high temperature setting, the bar can leave a film or streaks on the clothes, because the clothes are coming into prolonged contact with a bar that is increasingly softer as the tempertaure rises. I could imagine that, if this was the old way of doing it, someone would now be touting the brilliant new idea of dryer sheets, "So much … more
