fter watching the film The Bucket List with perennial stars Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, I took time to evaluate my own goals in life and decided it was time to create a list of my own. This essay is an opportunity for me to share my own list as a way of introducing myself to this community. However, this project is interactive. It is my opportunity to meet you, as well. So I appreciate any feedback, especially in the form of your own Bucket List aspirations.

My bucket list primarily consists of travel. I would like to visit every continent and every state in the United States. The United States part is almost done, with only Alaska remaining on the list. The Continents is a bit more complicated. The cost will have to be spread over the next decade, but I have my first trip planned for Egypt (Africa) next month. I have been to Europe and Asia (and of course, North America). I'm not so sure about Antarctica.

My bucket list has sub-sets, too. When I get to Egypt, there are several experiences I do not want to miss. I am not going to shell out the money for a trip like this and then scrimp to the point that I miss the experience. I have set aside the funds to do, at the very least, the items on my bucket list. These include a boat ride on the Nile (probably a dinner cruise), riding a camel, visiting the Sphinx and then a day trip to a nearby historical site. I will also try to squeeze in as many museums and other historical attractions that I can fit in.

For my South America adventure, I want to get Dive Certified (I have been snorkeling...to include Hanauma Bay in Hawaii). I would like to visit Maccu Picchu and the Galapagos, too. For Australia, I would like to visit the Outback on an adventure, take in some cultural events and spend some time in the sun. Maybe a side trip to New Zealand would be a nice way to top off that trip. At some point I want to return to Africa for a Kenyan Safari trip, I want to take a lengthy cruise, I would like to spend a week in Greece and maybe a trip to Jerusalem. Everything after that will be icing on the cake.

Let's see I have a pretty lame bucket list--skydiving, deep water diving and swimming with sharks...hmm. I guess inventing the warp engine wouldn't humanly possible LOL! nice one...

Wow, that's some list! A bit rich for my taste, but I do like travelling. My list would include learning a new language or taking guitar lessons, something like that.

With all the celebrity deaths this year, especially of the really young ones, I've really been jogging my mind over my own bucket list, so I love that you wrote about this! Traveling will definitely be on mine, too. Hmmm... I might just make a list in the future. Thanks for sharing, John! :)
