My son recently celebrated his fourth birthday. Having a birthday during the summer time usually ups the odds of getting outside or water-based toys, so it was no surprise to me that he received plenty of waterguns, diving toys, and a other toys aimed at outdoor fun. One of those toys was the Buzz Bee Double Shot Shotgun.
This gun is fun! With two barrels of foam dart (equipped with suction cupped tips) and realistic loading features, my son has been blasting me, his sister, his mom, and just about anything else that moves. The darts fit into shotgun shells that hold the darts in place while loaded into the gun. When you crack open the barrel, you slide the shells into the chamber, close the gun, and fire away.
Once you've fired both shots, crack the barrel open again and watch the spent shells fly out! The stock of the gun opens up to reveal two more shells and you can load and fire them too.
The gun is air-powered, but no pumping is needed. When crack the barrel open, a loud snap lets you know that the gun is ready to fire again.
Overall, this toy is fun for small groups of kids (and their immature fathers) to play with. Since you only have two shots at a time, you might not want to bring this gun into any epic battles. However, if you just want to chase or be chased around the house (inside or outside), this gun is two smoking barrels of fun.
