First I am not a professional photographer so my needs are less than some, with that said after using this Lens for a while I have yet to switch to another lens.
I have nothing but praise for this lens for casual use. The only place it has any issues that I noticed at all is when at the wide angle end if there are straight lines or edges at the frame perimeters they show a little warping. But this is not unexpected in a consumer wide angle lens. For reference the camera body I use is a Canon 20D.
The flexibility of this lens more than makes up for this relatively small issue. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to frame a picture and having to stop and change lenses and miss the shot. The image stabilization at the extreme telephoto end is great as I seldom shoot from tripod. It is a little on the pricey side but over all I am thrilled with this lens.

Do you know how much these generally run for? I am interested in buying a Canon digital SLR but I'm feeling so overwhelmed with the choice of lenses!
