"Shazam!". ha. Shalame! Even though he possesses some great powers, and has given Superman a hard time(since Superman is vulnerable to magic), I have never grown a liking to him. I always found him to be corny.

Yeah, this is for me the very essence of the immature superhero character, so I totally understand what you're saying. The best compliment I can give here is that Shazam has a cooler costume then Superman (capes still look silly though).

I actually prefer Supes red and blue, but I think Batman and Doctor Doom look the best with capes.

I think you guys need to read his new version....the cape is still silly but he has become darker. But granted he is more geared for the 40's-50's era...

I liked First Thunder, didn't really care for Trials. But I just don't have much an interest for him and never really did. If you have any stories in mind to recommend, then go ahead, maybe there were some really good ones I missed.
